Starke Ayres is the foremost African specialist and global supplier of premium vegetable, flower and lawn seed varieties – both for commercial and home garden planting. The following position has become available for a permanent Cashier, based in Rosebank, Cape Town. Purpose of the job is to accurately record and complete all financial transactions at the till point as per Company requirements and interact with the customer efficiently and courteously.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with customers in a friendly, courteous and efficient manner at all times
• Accepts full responsibility for the float, ensuring it is correct each morning and when returning it at the end of day for safe keeping
• Accepts cash / cheques / credit cards and gift vouchers in exchange for goods in accordance with guidelines as laid down by the Company
• Informs the Senior Cashier of any discrepancies as directed who will in turn inform the Assistant Manager (Administration)
• Ensures that all purchases are captured under the correct allocation on the cash register

Qualifications

• Grade 12 National Senior Certificate
• 1+ years experience as a Cashier
• Willing and available to work on weekends and public holidays
• Reliable transport to Rosebank, Cape Town
